Does anyone know how long it takes to get accepted into the BDCP? I just applied two weeks ago.

Also, what is the proceedure after your application? i.e. when do you take th PRT and the ASTB? Right away or do they wait?

The whole process differs for everyone. But since the end of the FY is coming, it shouldnt be any later than late august, since your not officially in the program until you swear in, which has to be done be the end of the FY.

After you submit your application, its sent to a processor to make sure there are no errors on it, and it gets sent back to your OSO for you to sign. You have to take the ASTB before anything else at this point. If you get good scores on the ASTB, then your whole package goes up to the board. If you are pro'recd then you go and do the physical, and PRT.

Did you go through BDCP as well? By pro'recd, you mean accepted. Is pro'recd Navy jargon i should know?

so what your saying is that they accept you based on the condition that you're physically qualified? and does anyone know when the whole prk waiver process come into play? I'm getting it done this thursday and was hoping to submit the app. when i come back from school for xmas (which would obviously be past the 3 month wait period) thanks

I dont really know how the waiver thing works, there is a new app out now, so I am not sure about that, but I am pretty sure that someone else will.
Archangl: I suppose that pro'recd is kinda jargin, It took me a while to figure out the whole process too. What pro'recd means is that lets say there are 10 openings for pilot. Out of lets say 50 applicants for the 10 pilot slots. 11 or 12 people out of those 50 will be pro'recd. The amount of people that are prorecd are the # of slots for that month plus 10%. I assume that they take the other 10% in the event that some of the people pro'recd will be disqualified by not being physically qualified or have trouble getting a clearance or something. After being pro'recd you do the physical and PRT and after that you are final select, and if approved for that, your in the program.

Since my oso tells me that pilot is at 100% right now because the end of the fiscal year in almost here, he seems to think that NFO might be a better shot. So I put 1. NFO, 2. Pilot, and 3. Intel. I am still waiting on my ASTB score. Hoping for the best here. If things went well with the ASTB I should be good to go.
