Base Housing

For those of who are in Meridian or have been stationed there, what is the base housing like. I am looking for a place to live near or on base.

I would live in housing if I had the chance. No rent, no electric/gas, no water/sewer. Sure you don't get BAH but at least you save on the utilities. A buddy of mine lives in housing and his place is pretty nice. Also, you are less than ten minutes from the squadron which helps when you need to get some late night practice time in the sims. But most important, if you need gouge, chances are your neighbor in housing has what you need.

Totally agree. There is really nothing to do in Meridian, so by living in housing you won't miss out on anything. Being close to the sims, gym, and walking/running trails is a definite plus. And with some of the wingings now being at Rudders you really get hooked up (wingings at Rudders are an awesome idea, I am a huge supporter of that).
Finally, the base housing community is pretty close knit, they are always having cookouts and other stuff.
