We see eagles fairly often here in the frozen north lands of Wisconsin. It's pretty cool to see them riding in a thermal and just hanging there.

One of my fav POTUS/Eagle stories....
This happened a few years back when President Bubba, (not to be confused with AW's TheBubba) visited KNHK.
Naval Air Station on July 4, 1996 to release an injured eagle which had been nursed back to health at the Patuxent Wildlife Refuge in Croom. Congressman Steny Hoyer accompanied the President. When the eagle was released, the site chosen by officials was in an osprey nesting area and two osprey's promptly attacked the eagle, knocking it out of the sky.
The moral of the story is.....don't piss off nesting ospreys.
