I just took my first ASTB mainly to see what I need to work on for the second time I take it. I got a 6/7/7 (didn't say anything about OAR). Is the ASTB a pass/fail thing here or do they legitimately decide on pilot/nfo slots based on it? Should I retake it? I thought service selection was based more on OOM and it seems like our Academic/Athletic/Military Rankings and living in the hall 24/7 would be all you need. I know plenty of rocks here that did a lot better than I did.

You just need to meet the mins that they have or sna/snfo to be considered for selection. After that it is solely based on OOM, etc.

6/7/7 is pretty competitive. I think the minimums for consideration are straight 3's, but I could be wrong

Yeah, but he's Academy, so it does not have to be competitive. He just has to "pass."
