Another question for all you knowledgeable fellows out there:
Could you, in a few sentences sum up what sets the Marine aviators and Navy aviators apart from each other? For example are the usual missions different etc. I am leaning toward the Marines but I am just sort of curious what some of you will say.

. Both Marine and Navy (jet) pilots must be carrier qualified, I believe.

They go through all the same aviation training and wear the same wings. But while a Naval Aviator is a Naval Aviator....Marine Aviators are Marines first. They go through the same ground training as every Marine. Therefore they are very very closely tied in with ground units. Marine ground pounders and Aviators do what the Air Force and Army wish they could do...get along. hehe....
