I've had my last night trap. I'm somehow OK with that. Granted, I'm not a pilot, but there's something to be said about sitting in a jet while the guy to your right is trying to land a 40-some odd thousand pound jet on a boat. At night. Yeah...

So are you saying that after a confusing night, you and the pilot switched seats by accident and he couldn't figure out why the flight controls from the right seat didn't work?

Yes, day traps are definitely fun on a steady well run deck. As MB says, traps on a rainy night with a pitching, rolling deck and no bingo field ...not so much!

Even though the night was a bit confusing, I let the pilot stay in the left seat. Dyslexic moment there. D'Oh!

Thinking of it, that may very well explain part of why I've had my last night trap...

Agreed. Day traps are awesome (well, good weather day trips)
but night traps, not so much. My last night trap was 02/03 and I will never miss them.
