I am going to primary in Corpus and wondered if anyone knew anything about this apartment complex. I see everyone recommends the island but I would like to bring my dog (65 lbs) and this place accepts those, looks nice, and is close to base. Any other suggestions?

I lived there Sept - Nov of this year (had to move out of my house on the island in Sept, then I selected and left Corpus). It's expensive, but everything is brand new and very nice. Pool is gorgeous, clubhouse has a nice fitness room/pool table/flat screens. They were easy to work with, and I had no problems getting out of my lease on orders (and I got my full deposit back). It's a quick commute (~10 mins to base), and you're right by everything on SPID, so that's nice. I know they had a few break-ins last month, but that was all after I left, so I don't know any details. If I had to do it all over again, I'd probably go live in Compass Bay on the island - most people I knew lived on the island, its walking distance to the bars, and it wasn't 905 a month...

I lived there for a bit, but as CBDUKE said above there were some break-ins. My neighbor got held up and my car was actually broken into. The mgt. is nice and pretty easy for work with. But it is really expensive (overpriced), for a 1 bedroom I paid 825 and its not really worth it. Also too the gate is broken all the time, go live on the island, beach club is pretty nice as is compass bay.

Also too the pet deposit is $600 waaayyy to expensive in my book.

If you have some buddies who can live with you take a look at some homes for rent out on the island. Its great out here, and not far at all from things. Also, you might be able to save some money on the insane pet fees some of these companies charge. We found a private renter on the island who was happy to let us help him pay his mortgage. We have two dogs (one 60lbs plus, another 100lbs plus) as well as a cat. We paid no pet deposit or fee of any type. If you want a house down here let me know, Im on leave and can drive around and PM you a few phone numbers. There are tons of places down here with 'For Rent' signs by private owners - who I personally always like dealing with over any company. Let me know.
