After completing pilot training at flight school, it says you'll be assigned to an aircraft based on your 'performance' and the needs of the Corps. Is that referring to your performance since commissioning, or performance since you started flight school?

NEEDS OF THE MARINE CORPS + performance in primary + your desires = pipeline choice (jets, props, helos)

NEEDS OF THE MARINE CORPS + performance in advanced + your desires = airframe choice

/thus far, the needs of the Marine Corps have coincided nicely with the wishes of me. knock on wood.

Add in small letters your desires on all of the above, it does play a role.
Good luck
