does anyone know how to go through school (from freshman to degree bearer) in less than 4 years. i don't want to/can't spend 4 years in school-if i do, i'll probably be too old for flight school. i don't want to take any chances and cut it too close. i know some schools have accelerated degrees, but i also want to accelerate beyond that. how do i do it (i plan to go to school in the summer as well, when i'm not at quantico)?

do any schools in particular have good accelerated programs?

also, does anyone know how i can get a copy of the list of schools that allow military personnel (and i assume other students) to transfer credits to each other without the usual red tape? it's the list that recruiters have in their recruiter's guide. i've already asked a recruiter and he told me he didn't know if it was available online.

:icon_help any help would be appreciated!

Most schools leave a little bit of leeway with scheduling. I know that at UGA (go Dawgs), most undergrad degrees are 120 hour courses; if you take the maximum 18 hours a semester, take summer courses, and manage not to just completely flip out in the process, theoretically you can graduate in two and a half years. Your best bet is probably to talk to a few undergrad counselors and find out which majors can be done in less than four years - some classes are easier to get than others.

I earned both my BA and MA in four years, however, I had earned about 40 credits before starting my freshman year through either AP programs at my high school, taking college courses at my local college over the summer and testing out of courses during college orientation. Then you just take the full course load (sometimes an overload if you can handle it) and summer school while in college. I earned my BA in three years, and that was on top of ROTC. I then finished up my MA for my fourth year before comissioning. It can be done, it just takes a lot of hard work.

Most schools will only let you transfer in a certain number of credits. At my school, it was 60. This was half-way in a 120 credit degree program. That makes sense, they don't want you earning over half a degree at another institution. The MA was only a 30 credit program so that was easy to knock out in a year. Other graduate programs may be longer. It's best to visit with an admissions director to go over your transfer credits to see what they will take and what they won't.

I don't think the university cares if you are military or not in regards to transferring credits; unless you are attempting to use military training as credit, then it is probably on a case-by-case basis.

There are a lot of accelerated schools that are regionally accepted i.e, AIU, Phoneix, and some others. If you have no college, it will take 26 months to complete your BA/BS degree with most of these schools. I am attending AIU and they accepted all of my military training as college credits; therefore, I met the science requirements.
