A.O.W Sling ???

I need some input. I normally eschew single-point slings for any and all tactical shoulder weapons/longguns, but I'm scratchin ' my head for the best all-around sling type for a Remington 870 based AOW "shortie" application ...

Something like this, perhaps ???

For something like this (below), perhaps ??? Not that I have one, purely a hypothetical situation.

Not sure if you've seen this particular variety or not, just a little different single point. I've been happy with other Blue Force slings that I've used.

Most guys I know have gone with a wolf hook or something similar, but not sure if that's practical for your application.

Thanks ... I'll check Blue Force Gear out on Monday ... mebbe the "hook" version for my "hypothetical" AOW since it "hypothetically" only has one attaching point above the pistol grip at the back of the rail .... hypothetically ???

Or perhaps ... "hypothetically" .... the "sling" version w/ one of these:

Ask me about ninjas!
blueforcegear.com is where I purchased my Vickers 2-point sling prior to deployment. The company was great to work with, and got me my stuff very fast. The only thing that could have made my Vickers sling better was if I had purchased the padded version. Of course, that one wasn't released until 2 months AFTER I left, but that's beside the point.

I think you could safely get away with using a single point on a *hypothetical* shortie, as it would be less inclined to strike you in the gonads with every step. Of course, I only really had a problem with said experience while I was moving faster than an easy trot, and can you honestly tell me that you'll be revving up that crotchety old frame of yours to sprint with weapons? Because if so, please, please, PLEASE post a video of that.

I can honestly or dishonestly tell you a lotta' things -- but ONE THING I'm NOT gonna' do is put up a video -- I do have some scruples.

You will have to settle for a still:

NOW ... *hypothetically* strap an AOW on that *hypothetically* lusty frame and let your imagination *hypothetically* carry you away .... :D

Well, good ... now while you wipe yourself clean and change your soiled garments ... time for a "serious" *hypothetical* question, if I may ??

For an "underarm" drop-type carry w/ the sling over your shoulder ... which sling might be mo' bettah ... ??

The Blue Force Anaconda or the SOE w/ bungee ... ??? I'm thinkin' da' BF "snake", mostly because of the wide(r) strap ??? I don't think a bungee is necessary or mebbe desired there. And as much as I like a "hook", I'm guessing the strap (see above posts) as this is the *hypothetical* rear -- and at present, the only *hypothetical* attaching point.

I'm thinkin' a "higher" (hypothetically) carry position as opposed to something that will be striking me "in the gonads w/ every step" ... as at this stage of life, one cannot afford to be cavalier about such subjects ... :)

*edit* 'course then the bungee allows one to "push" out and move the "master key" left/right w/ minimal effort ... ??? Now I'm goin' around in circles ...

Hmm....Will you *hypothetically* be carrying another long gun while you're *hypothetically* carrying the shorty?

Sir,

The bungee on the OSOE sling is so that you can adjust it very tight to the body, as single point slings are meant to be, but you can still muzzle strike to the face.

I have BFG's two point sling. Its the best two point out there.

But for single point I prefer the OSOE.

So long as you adjust it properly you neednt worry about it slapping around if you transition to pistol. By design it falls out of the way and clear of your secondaries path of travel to the target.

Either are good to go IMO.

Are you coming to SHOT SHOW this year?

There you go -- I think that fills in the voids in the ol' cranium. I didn't know the bungee was adjustable to any great extent, but I've stayed away from single point slings and they've evidently improved a lot in the past few years. Just one last question: hook or strap?? Hook or strap ???

Thanks to all of you guys who offered suggestions and products.

2009 SHOT Show ??? I don't know -- didn't really give it much thought as I think I'm gonna be in Honolulu. Nothing definite right now -- it's not in Vegas this year, is it ???

If this is for a Short Shotgun? I would use the strap connection, if its for a Breach Gun with a pistol grip I would use the HK clip attachment.

It's *hypothetically* a 10" bbl ... some call it "breach" ... some call it "vehicle security/defense" ... I don't know the true identity, but the box label says "mcs breacher", so I guess that's good enough for me.

HK clip ?? What's that ?? Kinda like on HK slings -- the front sling snap attaching hardware?? If so, I've got a couple of spare HK slings lying around ...

This is the sling that came w/ it as part of the MCS "system" ... go figure:
