2007 Tax Free Taxes

I have a question about taxes... I have been told two different things so far by two different PSs and by PSD.

I received my Dec LES and taxes were taken out. However after the LES came out, I went to a tax free location, so Dec should have been tax free. My question is, will I get an amended LES or W2 that reflects tax free to file taxes for 2007, or do I have to wait and claim the December 2007 tax reimbursement on 2008 taxes?

In my experience, tax free should be transparent as far as your tax returns go. Any income you get tax free should not show up on your W-2. The only thing you should have to worry about is whether or not you got tax free for your December pay, I.E. they didn't take out federal income taxes for the month. If they didn't take that out, then you'll be good to go.

Just wait for it to happen, then verify it's right. You should see the dates show on your Jan LES (next Friday), and the W-2s come out a week later. To answer your question though, the tax exclusion will be for 2007 and not reflected in your 2008 W-2. If your 2007 W-2 is wrong, make sure they amend it.

Actually W-2's are supposed to come out in 4 days, I would check with PSD to see if they corrected it. It probably will be corrected with your end of Month Jan Pay check, what will probably happen though is your W-2 will not reflect it, so you will have to wait till you recieve a W-2C (or at least thats what I think its called) and then file you taxes, the W-2C shoud have you corrected income.

*EDIT* Just looked at MYPAY, W-2's are out now.
