This will be unpopular - especially here - but this Economist poll indicates that RhinoSWOs opinion is not an outlier but rather is in the solid mainstream of the Republican Party. The Democratic Party’s claim of insurrection doesn’t have a majority of independents either.

No - I don't support rioting.
However it is rich that the left supported the attacks on other USG building throughout 2020, yet a riot at the Capitol is an insurrection.
A very unorganized, un-armed by any reasonable definition, and 'somewhat peaceful' insurrection.
The Left did like it, however because it was a chance to claim all the people there were 'rebelling' and impeach Trump RD2.
Again, was a great? No, just like the other left wing supported riots which were prevalent during that timeframe.
But the way people like you say "oh it was an insurrection" prove your exposure to real violence is extremely limited.
It was literally unarmed riot which had zero chance of doing anything meaningful.

At least half of Republicans also believed, and many certainly still do, that Obama was not a natural born citizen of the United States of America. That ought to tell you something about what drivel a substantial number of Republicans believe.
Certainly a few morons supported it but not national-level Democrats, much less national leaders or the ubiquitous and scary 'Left'.
