The impact of NIL and the transfer portal on NCAA football is clear. I have to say that Indiana has the best college football team I’ve seen in years! I now understand why Saban retired when he did, it seems like it will be impossible to keep a good squad together. On the good news side, it’s nice to see some parity in the conferences.

Best time of the year: football season starts and baseball is in its stretch run. That said, what a strange world NIL has brought - the latest being LSU trying to bring players back from the NFL.

Can’t say I ever remember a day of college football like this:

#1 Georgia loses on a last play field goal to Auburn 27-24

#2 Notre Dame loses on the last play to #8 BYU when the pass falls incomplete from the 8 yard line 28-24

#3 Miami beats FSU in double OT when a touchdown is called back in double OT and a Hail Mary lands in a scrum that Miami intercepts 43-35

#4 Ohio State beats #5 Indiana 19-15 when a touchdown pass in the last minute is out of bounds by 3 inches

#6 Alabama loses to #14 Tennessee 26-10

#7 Texas loses to Florida when WB Arch Manning fumbles with less than a minute 27-24

And some humor from Matt Mitchell. Every SEC team and its BIG-10 counterpart. Seems to be quite accurate, especially LSU and Wisconsin.
