They don't always have 6 a year, it is more common to have about 1 per quarter, some designators are 1 per year, some might schedule 6 but only end up with 5 or 4. Dates are only placeholders and can and have been cancelled on the scheduled board date based on the schedule of the senior member or new info for the needs of the USN.

I spent over six years on sea duty because I didn’t want to transfer out of NASWI, the enlisted man power manager at VAQWING said do a cruise with VAQ-137 and I’ll have a shore tour at VAQ-129 when you get back. Yes I volunteered, but it was the needs of the Navy/VAQWING that kept me at NASWI. It was a really rewarding short tour as I got to be an LPO at sea as a Second Class Petty Officer, not many get that chance. Sometimes it works for sometimes it doesn’t.🇺🇸⚓️😉

This is a better explanation than mine.
I was accepted for OCS at Nov board. Received minimal info from recruiter for 5 months. Finally got a date from him, but no email from “the scheduler” with all the info and I leave in a month. Recruiter says no way to contact scheduler and both the recruiter and scheduler had my confirmed date a month ago and did not tell me via phone call or email. Anyone else having this issue? would like to get flight booked and get the official information. Wonder what would have happened if I didn’t leave several messages for recruiter??
I'm in the same boat. July board for pilot was cancelled. I'm enlisted as well and found out from this page, not from my recruiter. We will most likely have to wait for the September board. Did you apply through your chain of command or through an officer recruiter though? I've heard mixed guidance about this because I'm a reservist and there's not much info out there. Thanks

It's fairly common to be given verbal notice of an OCS class date, and then an actual Final Select letter 1-2 weeks prior. I would start planning accordingly.

Unless you're enlisted in another military branch, all reserve and active duty Navy enlisted should be working with their career counselor. Everyone else, like prior enlisted (completely out) or other service, will work with a Navy Officer recruiter.
Ok thank you. One quick question do you make your own travel arrangements and then get reimbursed or do you have to go thru Navy for travel to OCS?

No, everything should be done with your recruiter. There are some things that can be reimbursed, but discuss with your recruiter first.
