On a separate but slightly related topic, I don't think HSC will survive long-term exposure to LCS. We're asking CVN and EXP squadrons to both train to the same SWTP, yet EXP squadrons will have to provide ARG and LCS support, to include MCM. It's too much for one community to do and try to stay together. $0.02.

The wonderful world of HSC and trying to fit 20 pounds of shit into a 10 pound sock.

As a Warrant in Army FW you will certainly rack up some time. Of course that’s unit dependent but a Deployment could get you between 80-100hours/month. Most everyone not deployed is doing about 35-55/month.

How many hours are you pointy nose guys averaging during a tour? We are sending P8 guys out the door with 1000-1100 TT and 400-500 or so PIC.

And I remember the pilots in VQ-1 whining about getting less than 2000 TT out the door back in the day when VP guys were getting about ~1200-1500 on average.

Depends. These days I hear a wide variety of ranges. I’ve heard as low as 500 and high as 900 in the first fleet tour. I personally got about 600 in my first fleet tour...full work up and cruise as well as an extension. I’m willing to be these days 600-700 is typical.

Everything is PIC however.

Our numbers are steadily climbing as the P3s check off station for their sundown. Decision makers are seeing what the P8 can do on station and we are extremely capable. Aerial refueling coming onboard is only going to help with the hours game.

USAF-style boom receiver, I'm assuming?

Of course, if I know the Navy, they'll give you a probe and expect you to tank from a Super Hornet...

We have the UARRSI (Spelling?). Yeah AF is going to give us the Gas. KC135 is what we are certified for. We have our eye out for KC46 though. That plane is the tits.
