a fellow Marine OC hopefull who was applying for ground was telling me that Logistics (supply) was one of the more sought after MOS

Just to prevent any confusion that may arise in the future on this, supply and logistics are NOT the same thing. Supply officer (for Marines anyway) are responsible for making sure that a unit has everything it needs to function normally or deploy, managing the supply budget, overseeing a warehouse, etc etc. Logistics officers are platoon commanders for things such as motor transport platoons, maintenance platoons, they handle transport requests, moving personnel and supplies from one place to another, and are masters of combat loading.

oh, and what is O or I level maintenance?

O (organizational) level maintenance is performed at the actual flying squadron. Examples-changing engines, swapping radios, replacing hydraulic lines. I (intermediate) level maintenance is performed at a dedicated maintenance unit (AIMD for Navy, MALS for Marines). Examples-repairing/testing engines, taking apart and repairing radios, fabricating hydraulic lines.

Squadrons generally have the Supply (or "Material Control Officer", as we put it) as a job for a junior aviation maintenance officer. They learn the ins and outs of aircraft parts, the supply chain, etc. before eventually moving on to more responsibility in the Maintenance Control office.

Yeah, that was my confusion Godspeed. I was wondering "then how the hell do you earn your Supply Wings?"

Crowbar, I thought that supply and logistic officer MOS's had been consolidated within the Marines. I base this on a conversation with a Log O. He may have mentioned the Motor T and maintenance consolidations and I took it to include supply as well.
