Just wrapped up my package for the March Board. It's a long-shot given my GPA, but my fingers are crossed. If I don't get picked up in March, I'll reapply and include SWO.

Applying for: INTEL
Age: 26
B.A. Political Science (3.1)
M.S. Public Safety (3.3)
MEPS: Cleared
OAR: 56
OTHER: 4 years of post-graduate data analysis/research experience, Arabic language native/4 years of formal study

I would consider SWO in the event you don’t get picked up for Intel. Your GPA is a bit on the lower end.

Sending up my OCS package today. Would I be considered competitive with the following stats?

Status: Active Duty HM2
Applying for: Intel (1st Choice), SWO (2nd Choice)
Age: 23
Degree: B.A. Spanish (4.0)
OAR: 51
Appraisals: CDR (Nurse Corps) All 10s, CDR (Intel) All 10's, one 9, CDR (IP) All 10's, O-5 (select- SWO) All 10's, O-3 (SWO) All 10's
CO's recommendation: All 10's
LORs: CDR (DC), LCDR sel (MC), LT (MC)
Awards: NAM x1, MOVSM x1, FLOC x1, Good Conduct x1
DLPT: Spanish 3/3/3
PRT Scores: All Excellents
EVALS: P (3 month HM2), EP (transfer), EP (regular)

A couple questions while we are at it and if you don't mind answering:
1. I'm sending my package for the IWC (INTEL/CW/IP/OCEANO & SWO-IWC Options) PROBOARD which convenes 04-Mar-19. Is this any different from the IWC DCO board that convenes 17-Mar-19?
2. When applying for this board, do they only consider me for Intel (being my 1st choice) or for all IWC (Crypto, etc.) communities and SWO?

Thank you in advance.

well, your GPA is pretty low, SWO - Oceano I do believe is now just being used for USNA/NROTC, Oceano wants a STEM degree like Meteorology, Oceanography, etc......

Your best bet is probably SWO

I'm too old for SWO and i have too many years of service for intel and Supply (which they cap at 6)

Applying for SNA and SNFO

3 LORs: Boss (work), engineering professor, classmate
The rest are shown below.
That got me thinking, how many LORs are recommended usually? I can get two (Professor, Former O-4 Army), but it'll be a stretch to find a third. Are two enough with my stats?

My program was different (CEC Collegiate), but my OR told me to get 3 (1 from professor, 1 from employer, and one from military). I am not sure how many are required for your program. Have you started your application or asked your OR for your specific program requirements? Wouldn't want to give you unneeded busy work. Good luck!

Thanks. I suppose I could get one from an employer, but the employer (only have one internship) is German and I don't know if they would be comfortable writing a LOR for the Navy lol. The rest are one and done part time jobs so I don't know about that either.

Not sure about your chances for Intel but you probably have a good shot at SWO. Your GPA is good but a degree in Spanish is well, a degree in Spanish. We have an a former HM2 in my class at NIOBC now but he had great GPAs plus a Master's. That's the kind of people your package will be competing against.

DCO board is not the same as the other board.

They'll just consider you for intel if that's all you put in your package for the IWC.

Good luck!
