My university is on the NSA National Centers of Academic Excellence list if that's the one you're referring to. Is there another more selective list? My academic core GPA is ~3.1 btw, 2.99 is cumulative. Thank you.

That might be the list, not 100% sure though, your GPA is still low, I was consistently seeing guys with 3.6 and 3.7 GPA's turned away by the CWE community, they look at cumulative GPA not the core. Given your GPA SNA and SNFO is your best bet.

I'm curious about your opinion on my package numbers @NavyOffRec and @RUFiO181 . They are listed in my signature. Had EP evaluations most of my career until Blue Angels, but I still received soft breakout MP's with an LPO and CCC billets. NFO is my 1st choice with Intel as 2nd. Very strong LOR's from RDML(1320) and 2 CAPT(1310). Any input and critique would be appreciated.

It's been mentioned many times here the boards don't really look/care at your evals or LORs. Your GPA is fine and your FOFAR is meh.

Thanks for the feedback. Do you think my tour with the Blue Angels would have any impact?

I doubt they would even notice.

So I find it odd I've had contradicting views on this subject. The local OR says the same thing as you two about LOR's and Blue Angels tour, but a senior officer who has sat the board and is a mentor of mine says it makes a mentionable difference. Maybe the difference between prior service and none? Either way, I appreciate the responses. Thank you.

NRC spends maybe 2-3 mins max with each Pilot/NFO application. Not enough time to really check anything other than GPA/ASTB score.

I have talked to multiple people that have sat the boards including a senior member not a one said they had time to look at anything other than GPA, test scores, and degree. He may have been the one that looked a bit harder, but most don't. If you ask any senior enlisted or any officer prior success as enlisted does not mean you will succeed as an officer.
