Is finishing flight school faster better? Nope.

Can we make this post a sticky/mando readying for every freaking SNA/SNFO out there?

I would go to VT-31, but then I would have to kill myself for sucking so bad at life.

How is it AF pilot training is exactly 53 weeks to wings and Navy has folks making LT still in flight school.

@HackerF15E am I right on the AF 53 week thing?

That's how it was with my brother. Granted, they do the whole Jet Advanced strike and fighter phases after they get their wings.

The Air Force is more of a professional flying organization while Naval Aviation has to play second fiddle to those boat things for things like funding for maintence and equipment.

Affirmative. The "dead" week is to account for Christmas, otherwise it is 52 training weeks.

The way "the timeline" is adhered to in a religious-like manner in UPT squadrons is the source of lots of angry instructors.
