More EP-3 pictures for the Echo Pecker fans out there......

This was the first EP-3E ARIES II aircraft BUNO 156507 delivered to the Navy and tested down at NATC Pax River in mid-1990. It was the second PR-31 (Deepsea 31) in VQ-1. The first PR-31 (Deepsea 31) was an EP-3B Batrack aircraft, and was much different that the EP-3E ARIES/DEEPWELL aircraft of the time. I flew in both of them.

The second VQ-1 EP-3E ARIES II PR-32 (Deepsea 32) BUNO 156511 on vacation in China. As you can see the #1 T-56A engine and prop survived. The Chinese jet wasn't so lucky.

And a couple of pictures of the ES-3A Shadow under going testing at NATC Pax in 1990. The first fleet ES-3A Shadow is in gray camo. The orange and white one was the Flying Qualities and Carrier Suitability Aircraft from Force Warfare Directorate.

Quick question: I worked w/ some guys a long time ago who's tactical call sign was "Deepsea" ... and I can't remember who it was ... possibly VQ-1 out of Guam???

That would be VQ-1 out of Guam. (Now out of Whidbey Island)

PR 32 was the last aircraft I worked on before I went on disability.

What ever happened to that thing (after the Chinese finished reverse engineering everything)?
The Navy sent it to Lockheed in Georgia where new wings were installed. It came here to Central Texas after for Mod, then back to the fleet. It came back about 1 1/2 years ago for the latest mod, and I was trying to put it back together to kick it back over the fence. I don't know if it's still here or if it's back in Navy hands now.

What AE-606 said. And a more recent Sitrep on PR-32; I was at a meeting at Pax last Wednesday over by the Tempest Hangar, and guess what was sitting on the ramp....PR-32! I couldn't wait until the meeting was over so I could get a tour. What a beautiful aircraft she is! It looks a lot different on the inside now after the JCC mods than when we delivered the first ARIES II aircraft in 1990. (Gosh has it been that long ago?)

Good to hear from you all and glad you still have an interest in the EP-3E.
