The Great Flight Jacket Thread (wearing/buying Leather, NOMEX, WEP jackets/patches)

What are the naval officer designators that are allowed to wear the leather flight jacket, or that you've seen wearing a flight jacket? Obviously NA, NFO. What about AMDO, AEDO, flight surgeon, SUPPO's assigned to aviation unit, Intel O's assigned to aviation unit, 63XX LDO's, etc.?
Per the reg for the G-1:
"Naval aviators, pilots, flight officers, undergraduate pilots, NFOs, and flight surgeons, aerospace experimental psychologists, and aerospace physiologists"

Then again, it also says you can't wear Nomex with khakis . . .

As for Nomex, it doesn't say. I have a family member who's a 1520 and has Nomex ones from his squadron days, and they seem pretty common in pictures from ships underway. If the 1520s do it,, I imagine the LDOs and CWOs do.

Copy, thanks. I know an 1830 who wears a Nomex and flight suit on occasion, so I wasn’t sure what the regs say.

I'd imagine that it's better to wear a Nomex jacket and brown shoes to fit in vice wearing a Swoter and a khaki combo cover as an 1830 if you have squadron/CAG orders.

He did a tour at NAWDC. I’d buy the G-1 brown leather jacket if eligible and if assigned to aviation, but it sounds like it’s not in the regs for Intel.

Make sure you show your Uniform Police badge and a printout of the regs when you council your shipmate.

Fallon is cold and the brown leather looks great. And it doubles with the bag on most days there.

Lol. If you knew me you’d know I am the farthest thing from the uniform police. I sincerely try not to screw it up and get myself called-out. I am the uniform “three unpaid parking tickets stuffed in glovebox hoping no one will notice,” not the police.

I told him it looked awesome and asked him how I could get one too.

Fester’s correct...naw-dick. I heard nawd-see a few times, but I think it was more of a joke. Also, the SWOs pronounce theirs n-smi-dick.

Looks like the two-piece massif flight suit that someone started a thread about a year ago. Someone needs to stray further than the MadDog thread. :D
