Well, after checking my finances it doesn't look like I'll be able to afford one anyway, so the question is now moot. But thanks to everyone for the replies.

Gatordev, I was issued the winter weight nomex during advanced training, I can't help it if you don't like your community, suck it up!

Hehe...you're right. My appologies. I actually do have a lot of respect for anyone that chooses to fly something so ugly as the P-3..all that stuff sticking out of it...oh wait, guess we have that too.

It is pretty funny though. All the training that is expected to be accomplished so that one can deploy anywhere, not just to a specific theatre for a specific mission, and yet, we don't get the clothing for it. At least I haven't had to wear my exposure suit yet. Thank god. <Shudder>

Gatordev, that is just plain envy talking, if you are nice I'll let you go for a ride, eat in the galley, and take a nap in the rack.... god, I can't wait to get back to Kbay....

Yeah, I definitely know about the cold weather stuff, even with gloves and winter weight gnomex, the weather cuts right through the flight suit! Speaking of exposure suit, pulled one out the other day, one of the new ones, not the older "gumby" suits, good stuff if I ever needed it, hope that NEVER happens...

Fly safe..

I just switched out my leather jacket for a different size. I saw quite a few of them on the rack in gear issue. I suppose these are the DOR jackets that have been returned... Not sure if they'll issue one of them to you, but wouldn't hurt to ask.

Gator,
Whats up with not having the winter Nomex. Even us lowly SNA's
batman_125.gif
here in Meridian get them. Mine even has a Gator patch!!

EODDave, we have to be careful with Gatordev, he IS just a helo guy after all.... probably got confused with the whole gear issue thing...

Yeah, well Dave, you're "community" can spare a few chaff and flare before going feet dry too, so what can I say. Oops, I've stepped outside the party lines...

Never! I will always be a "truly unrestricted naval aviator." Of course, if I ever managed to swing orders to be an IP for a T-2, that would be cool too.

Flight Jackets

Before I finish primary and select and possibly get out of here (though helo's seem to be plentiful in selection nowadays) I was just wondering if any of you guys in the last 2 weeks of API can tell me if they resumed issuing leather jackets again?

Only for certain sizes, i.e. if you're really big or really REALLY skinny. (i.e. like above a 48 or below a 42). I wear a 42R jacket and I have to wait for mine. They said Septemberish.

Why the F does everyone in the world have to be a 42R like me? Isn't it annoying nittany?

It's what I get for packing on 10 pounds or so since I reported in to schools command. I used to be skinnier than everybody . . .
