Just wanted to say thanks to everyone on this site for all the great advice. I took my ASTB late last year and received a 72 9/9/9...I'm currently waiting for the July-ish SNA board.

I used the Barron's and Peterson's military flight aptitude test books and the study guide in the ASTB section of AW (it's one of the stickies.) I also used some random online flash cards to supplement.

Overall, the AW study guide and the Barron's book were the most helpful. If anyone has any questions about my experience, feel free to ask.

Hello Nightflaw,
Can you give me the names of the book you used to study and the guide you used in the ASTB section of AW?
I just want to make sure i cover all my bases for the test.

Plus, there's a HUGE wealth of information all over this subforum, including gouge on what books are the most helpful. More than enough to give you a leg up on the test. Do some digging and you'll definitely find what you seek.

Really! Reread his post c-a-r-e-f-u-l-l-y. Reading comprehension is vital if you are to succeed at the astb. Better work on it!
I was asking for the full names to make sure. No wonder you are not a recruiter anymore.

Dude, disrespecting the one man that has helped many a candidate get into OCS and the Naval Academy is a bold move. You are not off to a good start.

If you have issue with someone's response to your post, I recommend that you take it up with that person via PM before you BLAST them. Just some friendly advice.

I'll just leave this here (basically rules #1 and #2 on this site).

  • The wings by users' names are not some made-up website award. They indicate that this individual has earned the right to wear the real thing. Keep this in mind when interacting with them.

  • This is not Facebook or MySpace. You will, in some cases, be interacting with people who will be far senior to you if you have the privilege of serving in uniform. We strive to keep this a laid-back environment, but blatant disrespect to senior officers or enlisted will not fly. This is a public site, and what you post here can be seen by all who visit and can have real-world consequences regarding your application or future reputation. ADMIRALS HAVE BEEN KNOWN TO LURK AND POST HERE. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

Hello, I want to take ASTB, (OAR ) section for December.
I want to be prepared, is there any other resources other than the manuals that i could use and take advantage?
what portion of the test should I focus on the most? what is the best way to study for this test.

Hey, I take it you may be newer here. Jump on over to this forum and begin reading:

https://www.airwarriors.com/communi...scores-ask-your-questions-here.28348/page-291

All of your questions will be answered there. People post mountains of study materials and their experiences/recommendations. I suggest you start from the most recent page and work your way backwards. Also, the search bar at the top right corner is your friend.!
