I did the shooting with Captain Ron and got both my Es. It is a little expensive but we shot for probably 6 hours which was a blast. We counted and he had 20+ different guns that he let us shoot. You also get the necessary training to get your Concealed Carry Permit here in Florida.

OK...that makes it a lot less gay. Although ribbon hunters are still tools.

You can, as long as someone has an RSO qual from the military.

Yeah, I get that, but all the SAMIs that worked for me (and always hooked me up with shooting time) said there were a few more wickets that were supposed to be done to make it legal. The biggest was using Navy ammo. I'm not saying that rule makes sense, just what I was always told.

If this guy is another avenue for guys to shoot and get credit for it, good deal. I was just surprised that the Navy made it that easy to get quals into your record. I have multiple operational awards that can never seem to get into my record, no matter how many times I send them in, so maybe I'm just cynical.

I think what allows guys like this to give/proctor the quals is the fact that it's a qual ala PQS vice some other type of award. I've never heard of the Navy ammo requirement although I'm several years removed from the Navy shooting teams so it may have changed since then.

This isn't the guy that the A-Pool DivO warned all of A-Pool about at muster, was it? Something about "certificate only worth putting on your fridge"...
Pretty sure it is. I wasn't there that day, but I remember people talking about it. He told everyone to stop doing it.
