Are you asking about Navy quals? If so, I would start at Pcola if it has a rifle range.

Anybody know anything about places or contacts for getting pistol and rifle qualed at/near Pensacola?

as in pistol qual'd to wear the ribbon? not gonna happen. a bunch of us tried during A-pool back in 2005. something about it has to be a command sponsored event due to ammo or some crap like that. but it doesnt hurt to try if u can find the armory.

If you can get a range officer qualified person to go with you while you shoot somewhere he can sign/qual you if you meet the navy standard and shoot a navy course of fire.

Gunnersmates and Ordies can be your best friends. :)

That's how you identify the Acadamy guys when they forget to wear their rings... They are the only Ensigns sporting more than the McDonalds ribbon.

Wait, you mean someone has had a similar idea before and then posted their experiences here on the website? If only there was some way to catalog such an event so someone could easily search for it....

That and the obvious inferiority complex they have.

Yeah, because we are the ones who start insulting ROTC and OCS guys out of the blue. In fact, without fail here on AW, whenever the insults start flying they always come from ROTC or OCS guys.

True! You will have to pay for ammo and possibly range and gun rental and maybe even the time of the range officer. We did this in Charleston back in '99 with a GMC from the EODMU and it came out to about $50 per person.

Not anymore. OCS was doing pistol quals but stopped earlier this year. My class was the 2nd to last to do it. I know several aviation studs who were OCS and have more than the National Defense Ribbon.
