I want to be a fighter pilot but I'd fly pretty much anything. Someday I plan on going to TPS and someday becoming an astronaut and I'd have a slightly better chance of getting into TPS in the Air Force. Also I know Air Force drill because I'm in Civil Air Patrol. However I really don't want to become a drone pilot especially after going through officer training and college so I'm leaning towards the Navy. Also In the Navy they land on aircraft carriers which might make them better pilots. However if I don't get pilot or CSO or NFO then I would like to be a space systems officer or a physicist and those jobs are not in the navy. Lastly, this may sound odd but I like the navy's blue camouflage uniforms so that is another pro for the navy however they might be getting rid of them.

I'm planning on going to the naval or air force academy or Embry-riddle and studying aerospace engineering or physics. I'd also like some insight into the differences between air force UPT and the equivalent naval flight training and if one is easier than the other. Also how important are the 2 years of foreign language to get into the service academies. Lastly, at the service academies how long do they yell at you for (is it just basic cadet training or all 4 years). Thanks in advance for replying.

And this may help you....

Generally speaking you will find resistance to posts that show that you haven't taken the time to do a cursory search for information, and instead desire that someone take the time to do your research for you. It is pretty much expected that you should be able to find answers for many of your questions based on previous discussions here in a variety of threads. Perhaps in those threads you can then post follow up questions that would generate more discussion ...

Jesus Christ...

I know you're still young and a bit naïve kid but if you're that worried about getting yelled at and which flight school is "easier", you may want to re-evaluate your career aspirations of flying jets/going to TPS.

Oh, and the blueberries are some of the ugliest, most ridiculous looking pieces-of-shit-waste-of-money ever forced on the American sailor...

Really want to pile on to this kids post, but he is 15 and learning, so listen to those above and use the search feature.

some things to ponder, some of the best officers I have known or worked with didn't have anything to do with any military organization before college, but they did have great grades and participated in sports, the people I know that were involved in things like civil air patrol and JROTC often ended up going enlisted. If you want to get into the service academy then look at the profile of those selected and try to model that, I would be several on here have been on the selection boards and could provide insight for what can't be found using search.

Ok I'll use the search function, also I don't want to go to the easier flight school I want to go to the harder one. Thanks for the replies, one thing I haven't found using the search function is would my knowledge of air force drill hinder, help, or be neutral for me if I joined the navy. Lastly, I'm not too worried about the yelling, I've been to encampment, LDC, and Hawk mountain ranger school however if the service academies are like boot camp all 4 years then I might lean more towards ROTC.

Depends. A smart person would take those experiences and use them to excel.

Your what-I-did-in-summer-camp-bragging does not add to this conversation. Before you post again, recommend you start some serious reading of this site....there are lots of dedicated threads to the questions you ask. To help you out, I'll lock this thread so you cannot reply.
