Question about final select letter

So I have been told by some and actually read on this website that if the non-US country doesn't accept your request to renounce, the Navy may allow the person to still join. Is this true? if so what will you need to present to the Navy to let them know that you tried to renounce but the non-US government wouldn't approve? I mean I could tell them out right "they did approve" but I feel the navy would prefer some official document to be sent to them. This question is really for @RUFiO181 or @NavyOffRec but if there is some one out there where the country didn't approve their renunciation please fell free to answer.

I am kind of in the same position, I was born in Canada and both parents are from the US so I was a dual citizen when I was born. I got pro-rec Y for SNFO from the 30 June board and have to renounce before I get my FINSEL but I'm doing it after my fishing trip to Ontario in August. Im waiting because I don't graduate until Dec. so it wouldn't matter anyways.

Does anyone have advice/info for a possible security interview? The only connections I have up there are family and guys I've fished with over the years.

Its incredibly hard to stay focused on work and school, all I want to do is get that letter and go! Thanks for any information y'all.

Seems like the appropriate place based on the original nature of this thread, and I couldn't find the information utilizing Google nor the search bar:

Is the FINSEL equal to orders? Specifically in regards to the SCRA and breaking a lease? Is there another document that is specifically "orders"? Or does the FINSEL, stating the class date for OCS and the community/designator serve that purpose for non-prior OCS applicants?

I'm a non-prior in OCS class 04-16 and I can tell you that there are separate orders from the FINSEL. I received my orders after signing the enlistment papers well after receiving FINSEL.
