paperwork needs to be processed, your complete background check needs to cleared, and medical record needs to be reviewed I think. My recruiter said the next steps were for me to come in and sign paperwork for the background check, so i'm waiting on that.

Makes sense.

When I went to MEPS a while back I remember having to go get some paperwork signed for a background check, so I believe I've already done that. My recruiter had mentioned that there's a "investigation interview" that needs to be conducted? Not sure what that is.

I haven't heard about that but I was reading somewhere on here that those interviews don't happen to everyone (for what reason I do not know).

So I got a PRO REC Y as well! Very excited, now I am just waiting on the FINSEL. It's shouldn't take too long especially since I have an active clearance and SSBI completed less than 3 years ago. . . Not sure if active clearance will speed up the process. . . But I am looking forward to meeting you all at OCS!

Going to MEPS this Friday to redo my fingerprints and sign four pages to finalize my clearance paperwork, according to my recruiter. They way my recruiter worded it in the text message though kind of got me excited:

"We need to redo your fingerprints and sign 4 pages to finalize your clearance paperwork and get the final select letter."

I find it too good to be true if I would be getting my FINSEL one week after getting Pro-Rec Y, but my recruiter did tell me last week that SWOs will be getting to OCS rather quickly...

Okay y'all, I have a question... Have any of y'all had to go in to sign any papers? Do we not sign anything until after the final selection letter comes in?

Yeah I signed paperwork on Tuesday relating to medical record releases, background check, etc. Also, I had my fingerprints taken - which I did in MEPS but apparently they expired.

In regard to FINSEL, my recruiter predicted a summer OCS date. However, from my own research, it seems like most people ship out at the conclusion of the following board they received their Pro-Rec Y. For example, many Pro-Rec Y SWO people from the December board are just now shipping out.

To echo the responses here: I went in today to get my prints done again (was told they are only valid for 120 days and I wen't through the whole MEPS process in July - getting them done then) and sign the paperwork relating to medical, credit, and background history. Pretty sure it was four forms total. I was basically told that fin sel could come soon or it could take a few months. For now, it's just wait until the Navy processes the paperwork and completes their screening. Once fin sel comes in, it's swear in and wait until OCS. Obviously the sooner the better....work is starting to get old and ~90% of my conscious thought revolves around getting to OCS, completing OCS, and getting into the fleet. I'll be patient though. If hurry up and wait is the axiom, I should just embrace it. Here's to waiting for who knows how long until the fin sel comes in. Cheers.

Ugh, I think I have to get my prints done again as well... got them done in September. I am having this debate on whether or not to sign up for another semester of MBA courses or just focus on fitness and preparing. I have about a week left and these essays are becoming more and more difficult to focus on.
