Gentleman:
This forum has been entertaining. "Artsy Russian webpage," that is funny. Tessone-- how in the world do you PT 3 hours a day? Either your idea of PT is drastically different than mine or you're the warrior's warrior. Unless you're an Olympic athlete, no one needs to PT for longer than 1-1.5 hours, MAX. If your intensity is right, than you should not be able to PT longer than 1-1.5 hours. I mean real PT, not ultimate frisbee, or lifting weights. As a side note, you do not need weights to get into shape. Check out the Navy Seal workout. You can find it many places online. If you can complete this workout, than you can brag. And there is no weights involved. And man--it looks like a beret to me. Blades, you OSO is on your side. Go do the PFT. He will not submit your package until you give him the go ahead. You have until spring. Get used to PT under adverse conditions. At OCS and TBS, you will be sick as a dog--everyone gets sick ("Squad-bay-Crud"), tired, hungry, stressed, etc. Your throat may hurt, your knee may ache, it'll be too hot, etc. LEARN TO NOT WHINE BUT ADAPT AND PERFORM. That is the trademark of a Marine Officer. Improvise, adapt and over-come. Go run the PFT sick as a dog. It's good practice. Tell your OSO you feel like **** and you'll do better next time. Also, why can't I see any of cunninglinguist's post in this topic? Does he have another screen name?

PAT PTs like 5 hours a day (if memory serves. . . ); but then again we can't all run 3 miles in 16 minutes [:D]

When all else fails- all you can do is the next right thing. All these LT's smell weakness tess, and they only know one way to deal with that. there not really wrong. but we all dont even know each other and I would have just left it alone. If any of you try and make it, or try and fail, I dont care. I'll see you when I see you if your gonna be a Marine. This is a stoopid place to have a pissing contest.

warning to all who think they are too smart for xenophobic trash: don't read this.

When I was in kindergarten I was the first one to finish my ginger bread house. I got a gold star next to my name for it. I was even the first to fall asleep at nappy time. I'm a little train that could...i could I could I could!

Hello all,

I am an aviation candidate myself. I am supposed to be contracted on Nov. 22, for the June 1st 10 week PLC course. I firmly believe the PFT should be formost on the mind of any candidate. As a prior enlisted Marine (currently searving in the Reserve)I understand the importnace of PT, but in my college boy days I too have fallen behind. I have no problem with pullups and crunches, I'm just a slow ass runner.

Interestingly enough, I've been to OCS. I completed the 6 week PLC course way back in '97. However I didn't complete my degree in time and now must do the whole thing. To those candidates that haven't been yet, I'll tell you what, have your **** together PT wise. They don't mess around with it. I was a young kid when i went through so it was no big deal. But I'm 24 now and am a bit concerned. However with some consistent PT, I'll be fine.

That's very interesting about the board meeting in the spring. I had no idea I have that long. I thought this all had to be in by Dec. Thanks to all for the input.

Jafar, or anyone whose been to OCS, looking back would you recommend following the 12 week candidate circuit program suggested on the official OCS website? If not, what do you suggest?

Hell Yeah! I was an 03 for four years. What outfit you with? I'm currently an 1812. Believe me, commanding a 70 ton death machine beats humping around with a damn SAW. Did that for to long. But I still have a little grunt left in me

. (just not much.)

Hands down, flying will beat all of it. I call it evolving in the battlefield food chain. Grunt (bottom) Tanker (middle) Aviator (top)

To answer the above question, I say yes it will help a lot. But don't get stuck in one routine. Mix it up all the time, and try to beat the standards they give you in that outline.

Ooh Rah- 0311 all the way. I carry a saw too. Tanks gotta be fun!I still love getting rides in anything with tracks. I'm with 3/25 in WV, I may switch now that I am so far away from them though (b/c I am done with school and at home) I May either get recruiter assistence till my shoulder is healed or just switch units.
