Glad to see someone who didn't have an amazing GPA, because mine is about the same. Counting on knocking the ASTB out of the park and having a good PRT. I'm a mathematics major and My major GPA is around 3.5, but overall is going to be about what yours was.

Did you have any flight time with yours?

There is nothing I want to do more in this world. I'm one year away from graduation... so for mathematics that's, differential equations, intro to statistics, math stats, bio stats, numerical analysis, number theory, advanced cal 1, pro-seminar, set theory, partial differential equations, and something else... but it should be fun.

If there was a way to skip it, I would, but since it must be done... I'll just have to rock it out until then. I'd sign a life contract for it, since that's the plan anyways.

It's all about timing man.
I applied last November with a
7/7/6 57
3.0 in History
Outstanding Low PRT
And I got picked up SNFO ( my second choice, SNA was first.)

A guy in my OCS class applied the month earlier with
5/5/5 50
3.O in Econ
Average PRT
and he got an SNA slot. (his 3rd choice)

It's a crap shoot, period. Just do your best and if you get picked up, just be happy you were invited to the party. Good luck!

You got differential equation, stats and numerical analysis in your senior year as a math major? I had those classes as a sophomore and I was behind the curve...

^x2 on the math, wish we had it that easy.

With regards to the stats and scores, you're just going to have to submit and see how it goes, but I completely understand that you want to know how you measure up. Here's mine (bdcp sna oct 08):

7/7/8 56
3.15 MEng EE
Decent Activities/PRT/LORs
15 Hrs PIC

Good luck to ya man!

Let me give you some background... I had vision worse than 20/400 in both eyes so even though I really wanted to be a pilot, I didn't think it was possible until I finally researched PRK and got the surgery (hooray for 20/20 now :p) So, basically I had no ambition those first two years of college and started in pre-law... then advertiing... then economics... then 6 months off... finally I said "hey, I can still be a pilot..." and went for Physics. Did good in that for a bit, but found that I really enjoyed the mathematics of it more than the rest so now I'm a math major. The good thing is that all I have left are those math classes. No general bull crap, just 4 math classes spring, 3 summer, and 4 fall and I'm O-U-T. But yes, I am behind where I needed to be. When I gradute next fall, I have been in for 5 and a half years counting the half year I took off.

I know my GPA right now is low and is hurting my chances for pilot, but I finally just decided that I could let that stop me here and now or I can work my ass off and improve my PRT, ASTB, and GPA (as much as possible) so that when it comes time to put in my package it is the best that it can be now. I can't change the mistakes I made, but I can do my best not to make more.

Nothing kicks your ass into gear like getting married and having a kid that will be looking to you for support. Serving my country and making my family proud all while doing something that I've dreamt about since I was a little kid... nothing better in my opinion.

Wow... sorry about the speech. So, yeah... haven't taken Differential equations yet. :)
