All good gouge, except it's 12 weeks now.

    Big take-aways here:

Speed, volume and intensity in everything you do.

Embrace the suck (in ways like viewing it as getting paid to go the gym etc).

Be a team player and don't let the "man" get you down (ie: don't come down on any one person because the staff is TRYING to get you to do this).

Every time you think you have it bad, just think: you get 3 square meals a day (and hot, fresh ones too). You shower daily (and if you don't, you're WRONG!). You get SOME manner of sleep each night (if you don't, you're not trying). Our boys overseas haven't showered in days/weeks, have been on watch/patrols/ops for over 24 hours, and are eating nasty MREs, so don't THINK you're going to get sympathy from your DI. You will just get killed.

I'm signing this Friday and shipping out on the 24th. I've been hitting up some pretty hard core PT. What exactly is the big three? I think if I learned this, along with my PT sched. I will be in as good of shape as one can be in for OCS. Thanks!

In my pre-OCS manual it is the Big Four:

    General Orders of a Sentry
    The Code of Conduct
    Chain of Command
Navy/Marine Corps rank insignia and structure

Jeez....back to poopies in week 5??
We had a numbnutz in our class ask to go to sick call on the first day the class PT'd with the whole rest of the Battalion. He told our DI that he had to get his prescription for propecia refilled!! You can't make that shit up!

I saw a guy go to sick call because he was over hydrated. That's exactly what he said. In all reality he was just trying to weasel his way out of a certain DI's class while sitting in H.

    My advice

    1. Have fun with the beatings. Not being snide or sarcastic. I received an epic beating at least once from each DI, got to learn each one's personal touch to there beating that made each one extra special for me. I even got to be part of the legendary and epic 100% RLP fail rate beating which was so long and brutal they could have sold t-shirts for it in the regiment. You have to have a sense of humor about it.

    2. As far as RLP the beat advice I got was to basically act like the DI is about to rape you. Scream, shout, yell, make noise, like it's the last moments of your life (Your voice SHOULD go out from effort), especially when they find a hit (this is key). Oh, don't get Black Ninja'd.

    3. Don't take it personal. After OCS, some of the class team members including some DIs are about the nicest people you'll ever meet. Some of which may even surprise you.

    4. The cameras work so be a tool in the p-way at your own peril.

    5. Practice Chow hall with an H'er. If you are learning it alone, you are wrong.

These were just getting installed when I was there...do the DIs see the videos now?

Btw, did you also have to eat with teaspoons before you rolled?

Yup, 3 times 3 different DIs confirmed they use them. The Destoryer out and out told us straight up. I wondered how they knew certain things without being in the p-way to see.

Some DI's used this as a punishment I don't recall doing it for rolling.

I thought he was going to stick around and help around the regiment for awhile longer? RLP just got really easier. I still remember him pacing the P-way while everyone prayed under their breath not to get him. Man, it isn't OCS without his patented muscle failure beatings. This deserves it's own topic.

Our first beating from him was legendary. And he stays so calm, cool, and collected when it happens. It's was such a peaceful atmosphere - but he wrecked our bodies. :D

    Black Ninja beatings huh?

He gave me one of my favorite individual beating stories. I had to do the radio inventory one time but we weren't Candios just yet so we were all still subject to all the regular OC rules and beatings. I had to find the missing radios and it meant going to each room in DI country, doing door entry procedures, and balistically asking each DI if they seen a radio. I made it to about 4 offices, avoid two potential beat down situations until I got to the Black Ninja who no doubt heard my all about my situation from his desk. I asked and his response was, "Why are you in my office sounding like a little B*****." I'm just thinking to myself "oh boy." "Tell you what, step into my office, we are about to play some games." I got my s**** wrecked for about 20 minutes, got his famous muscle failure pushup cadence, was used as a prop for other Candidates in DI country about how not to act, and finally recovered. He then says, ," Now, what was it you wanted to ask?" Out of breath and covered in sweat I asked if he seen the radios. He said No and to get the hell out of his office. I carefully did door exit procedures for all my worth and high tailed it out of DI country. Screw the radios for the day, lol
