Was med down for a few weeks. Watched all of A Very Secret Service, now well into TURN. Good stuff.

Breaking Bad if you somehow haven't seen it yet. I also liked The Last Kingdom and Kilo Two Bravo.

Pumped for the new Narcos season in a few weeks.
This season is apparently going to be about the last few months of Escobar's life as he was run to ground. Subsequent seasons will move on to other drug wars. It'd be neat if it turned into a Traffic-style interwoven stories thing.

Not many Americans know about the US landing forces in Russia, fighting into 1919 (after the end of World War I) PBS has a documentary entitled the Polar Bear Expedition. My Russian history books are packed away but I do remember we had troops in Vladivostok and Archangel. PBS published a documentary about the fighting on the northern front (the protected cruiser USS Olympia near the Dvina River was in support - I believe the ship is a museum in Philly now) while the 2nd clip is a film showing troops on the other end of the Asian land mass.

I struggled to make it through the first season of Homeland. I was done after that. Seems captivating...unless you have any remote knowledge of the baby-sitting our POWs get when they return. And don't even get me started on the random use of cell phones in classified spaces, albeit not as bad as 24.

I saw the trailer for this and was intrigued. Glad to hear it was good, will have to check it out.
The movie was well-done. I don't know anything about the incident and I can't say how much was factual and how much bullshit. I'm interested enough to look into the book upon which it was based.

Thanks, that raid and the subsequent sinking of the ferry with the heavy water shipment remain two of the few truly impactful commando actions of the war.
This was an awesome movie.
...and sad to hit the internet and read how they were subsequently all treated in real life afterward.
