I'm a SWO-IP, I'm struggling to get qualified and I'm getting to a point where I'm not sure its going to happen. I'm busting butt and I'm trying to maintain a positive attitude. However I'm just not making the progress that I think is expected. I'm a little embarrassed to admit this but I need to find out what happens to a SWO option who doesn't obtain their Pin? I have decent Fitreps so far and I have progressed in my qualls up to a certain point.

Is there a chance Ill be able to keep my commission and? Do they still revert back? I signed a DD-214 when I got my commission. So does that mean I get kicked out? If I do revert is it still back to rate plus 1? I cant seem to find these answers. Does any one kow?

You need to talk to your senior watch officer, training officer, and ultimately XO/CO to figure out why you're not getting qualified and what you need to do to get there. Does the CoC simply not trust you? Is it lack of initiative? There's a lot of factors here that's not being disclosed/mentioned that need to be to help you get over this curve. SailorBob has some decent gouge as well.

As for non-attainment depending on your background (degree, major, CO's recommendation) you could possibly redesignate to another community but the odds are significantly against you. More than likely you will be sent out and transition into the reserves.

I'll let @azguy and @AllAmerican75 weigh in.

Yes, I'll add in your DH, any other DHs that you click with, and the 2nd tour JOPA.

I think the vast majority of non-attains end up that way due to a bad attitude. Not always, certainly, but usually. If you have a good attitude and are motivated, you'll be more into studying, and others will be more into helping you study. Especially as a prior, all signs point to an attitude problem. But I'm just a dude on a message board. Talk to the trusted officers in your wardroom and get their take.
