The new Glock 19 Gen 5 is supposed to be a great gun. I have a Gen 2 and a Gen 4 G19 (and a 42,43, 26, 30S, 21,) but I may have to jump on a Gen 5 G19. Fantastic tools.

I've read some poor reviews on the Gen5. It's a good looking pistol instead of standard Glocks which are not. (Compared to Sigs, Kimber, 1911, etc). My 17 & 19 are Gen 3. My 42 & 43 are Gen 4. No complaints.

The early reviews I read were positive. I hope it's a piece of junk cause I need a new glock like I need a hole in the head. My Gen 2 G19 would be the last weapon I'd ever sell.

From what I've seen the Gen 5 is like a combination of the Gen 2 (no finger grooves, pinky area cutout) plus new additions (different slide finish, traditional rifling, flared magwell) as well as having slightly altered internals. I think it will probably need bugs to be worked out in the coming months, like most products do.

For all the negativity floating around it's a slick looking pistol.

Gen 4 was/is the perfect spot for me. Except for the dumb sights. But the GNS fixed that...although I then "fixed" their fix.

I have a NF 4-16 ATACR (mine is in mils) on my bolt gun and I've been very impressed. I have an older NF 3.5-15 NXS F1 on my SR-25, and it's a nice scope, but the ATACR is lighter, shorter, and at least as clear. I highly recommend. You can get a decent rebate off of MAP through their military pricing, as well (about $400-500).
