Just flew off my final deployment of my sea tour yesterday. Spent the entire cruise losing sleep and burning the candle at both ends (not complaining, I love this), but owing to post-HAC responsibilities this time around, I let too many sunrises and sunsets pass by unmarked. It was strange to think a day later rather than moments before, "This could've been my last deployed boat landing for the rest of my life."
Love this job. For everyone still awaiting their sea tours, find the moments on board that mean the most to you and mark them as often as you can. You'll need them and you'll be thankful to reflect on them.
