Medical Waivers (2018 version)

CNRC recently put out that he took over medical waivers. With that being said, the Admiral will entertain ANY waiverable medical condition with the exception of the following:

HIV
HEP-C

"Entertain" doesn't mean it will be automatically approved. Additionally, I should mention this is simply to join the Navy and not job-specific. For example, if your vision is 20/200 (something beyond 20/40) you will still not be approved for Pilot.

If you currently have conditions that are listed in the MANMED, say CURRENT asthma, you will still not be approved to join.

New to this site so I'm not sure if this would be the right place to ask this.

This past year I was working to get into OCS. I was hoping to get onto a recruiting board this past spring. I completed my application packet. I scored 7/8/7, 55 on the ASTB-E. However, I was medically disqualified after submitting old therapy records to MEPS from 4 years ago which included notes regarding depression and thoughts of suicide. The records show that I was not diagnosed with depression or any other mental health disorder and was discharged after 10 visits. My recruiter sent me a screenshot of the letter he received regarding my disqualification. The letter says that my physical examination expires in 2020. Will I be able reapply in 2020? Do I have any other options for reapplication/waiver acquisition? Any help is greatly appreciated.

You don’t need to post the same thing numerous times.

If you are medically DQ’d then it’s the end of the line.

I apologize! Figuring this out. Thank you for the help.

Do you know if I would have a chance applying to other branches of the military? Or is the same medical information used when applying to other branches as well?

You would have to contact the respective recruiter for that service branch.
