Marine PLC Ground, Then PRK???

I don't have 20/20 vision, but i wanna fly, so this is what my OSO, and another Marine (LtCol, friend of the family) suggested I do.. go to PLC as a ground applicant, get PRK after Jr.s, then do a supplemental application to get an air contract. has anyone done this or have any advice for me?

I'm doing that right now. Just completed PLC Jrs in July on a ground contract, and I'm getting PRK in December.
