Kickboxing - LA Boxing

I joined a LA Boxing gym last week, have been interested for some time. Most intensive workout - ever. Surprised that about 25% of members are women. Met a former Marine - and was reminded there is no such thing as a former Marine. I also found out they are no longer referred to as BAM's, even if they are. She claims to have completed BUDS, did not think that was possible. Possible during summer block at USNA?:confused:

BUD/S? Women don't do BUD/S. Marines don't do BUD/S. It's also nearly 6 months long. She may have done a field trip there, but she hasn't done the course.

Absolutely completely 100% BS. Can you PM me her name perchance? Ask her what class she graduated with and who her swim buddy was. I suspect she is full of crap about being a Marine also. I can’t believe she expects people to believe that line, no female has ever graduated BUD/s.

She should be reminded of this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stolen_Valor_Act_of_2005 and may be eligible for prosecution.
The folks over at http://www.pownetwork.org/ would probably like to hear about these claims also.

Very very slight possibility of some type of SPECWAR orientation-type thing as a midshipman during CORTRAMID (not talking about mini-BUD/S). I don't even know if they still do that, or if females can participate.

Well, yes, s'why I asked. The only possibility I see would be attending portion/special program during her summer block (13 weeks) at USNA. I remember meeting a Mid - Class of '99 think maybe -00 that went to some part of BUD/s during one of her summer blocks. Think she went on to be a Prowler driver.

Already on the bad side of her, joking I said I did not see how she could ever carry enough weights to achieve neutral bouyancy.

I did not ride in on that potato truck. I will find out, doing my homework before I call anyone out. Thanks for input.

LA Boxing is a cool gym. I got to train with Kit Cope and Shawn Yarborough (professional kickboxers) while I was at the Vegas location, and had a couple of great workouts.
