So if Otto has trouble at HTs will he become "NightSteamBox"?

Not that I would wish trouble upon him there.

Don't worry, I'm sure your fellow HSL compatriots and Flying_low will take care of that without any prompting from you. ;)

Haha. The hardly boys from "The mystery of the urinal deuce" episode (just saw it, that's how I know the actual episode name and their nick-name).

I missed those past-names on Otto's signature and profile before, don't ask how -I guess I just don't read signatures a lot (my excuse and I'm standing by it :D). Is everything cool Otto? I also see that under your user-name it says banned, but I wouldn't think a contributor could be banned. Anyway, just curious -PM me if it'll clog the thread.

I get it Cron. It never occurred to me, but I know (?) Otto is a Marine, so I probably should have figured about the wrote-8. No crack at helos, I would be ecstatic to fly one; no fly-by-wire seems like a hell of a challenge, and I like that, too.

I'm pretty confident that's him being commissioned as an Ensign in his profile. ;)

Anyone can & will be banned if warranted. Just try it, we can oblige.

I've seen him on the Marine boards a lot, and on those boards he gives specific Marine advice -that's what I meant.

Doesn't every branch have ensigns? I thought an ensign was a O1 newly commissioned Officer, and that you are an ensign for 2 years until you become an O2. I could be wrong; I also know/think there are other names for Officers that were just recently commissioned like JG Officer (junior grade)...

Please tell me you are kidding.

Navy and CG have identical rank structures
USMC, USAF and US Army have a different rank structure (but no Warrants in the USAF)

Nope, not kidding here. I am learning as I go. I haven't even finalized my package yet (dang PRT) so I get a bit of a learning curve. The plus side is that I am eager to learn and pick things up very fast. I know that the rank structures differed though; I just thought an ensign was an O1 in every branch and it changed from there. I am applying only Navy so it's understandable, I think. (If I got repeatedly rejected I would be a Marine, in the mean time getting my self in top shape to do either. That's my goal to be a Naval Aviator: Navy, and if not, Marine. Tip of the spear both ways :) )
