How does Navy determine # of IP's ?

CNATRA process:
Step 1- create fictitious planning factors imported from alternate reality/bizarro world
Step 2- plug into Gonkulator to generate requirement
Step 3- apply appropriate "correction factor" to reduce requirement to something palatable
Step 4- Send TFMS package to languish at PERS
....
Step 239- VT front office pressure PERS placement officer mercilessly until he agrees to double stuff required billets to keep the train on the tracks.
Miller time.

Is CNATRA actually hurting for (Navy) bodies? I was under the impression the Navy manning within CNATRA was 101% and they were hurting for Marines and members of the Coast Guard.

According to my friends in Kingsville they soon will if they don't already. I believe 1/35 JOs was planning on staying in post-commitment. VT draft, mando 6-day workweeks, doubling up on rooms at the Q on det, and three flights a day are ensuring all morale has been ground into a fine, shitty powder.

Jets pilots and NFOs are bodies available limited. More of a billet issue from where I am sitting... that said, hard to complain seriously, for me.

If you were a non-FW, Osprey, or AH-1Z Marine aviator/flight officer and you wanted to goto any given MATSG this past FY, You probably got hooked up. Regardless of your fleet qualifications. Probably similar forecast for this FY if I had to guess..

Am I understanding you right that you think the folks in Kingsville have it good and should not be complaining?

You're saying that CNATRA is hurting for Marines and Coast Guardsmen right? (Which I agree with not based on any facts that I've seen, only what CNATRA actual has said to us in various lectures.)
