Maybe I read it wrong. I was under the impression he was advocating Miramar/Oceana and telling us how bad Cecil/Lemoore sucked.

Now, Brett, if you're gonna be a professor & a board guru, you really have to brush-up on your grammar. You never end a sentence w/ a preposition, and you never use the same preposition twice in the same sentence for the same purpose. Now, you did get the "whom" part correct. Thankfully, the Department of the Navy transferred NAS Miramar from one member service to another. Fact is, our jets aren't based there anymore, and that sucks.
But it's not pedantic of you to quibble that it was transferred to the Marine Corps? Join the real world if you ever fall off your cloud, or you can remain the smarta$$ of the message board. Your choice, dude.Thanks, grammar pedant. That rule isn't in my style manual. Perhaps its anachronistic.
From your post, you would have thought the base was given to the Chinese. Would it have been great if the west coast pointy nosed dudes could have stayed at Miramar, prehaps. The Navy had its reasons and theres not much sense in crying about it now. As for my cloud, I'm comfortable with the view from up here. I might recommend you not view every statement I make which doesn't align with your views, or challenges your assertions as some kind of attack - technique only. Debate is a good thing.

I apologize, after going back through the thread - I think I misunderstood Fog's post...
Yeah, I grew up in Havelock. So I agree that all in all we are pretty lucky. Although there are a few (un)lucky souls who get stationed in Enid, OK with follow-on orders to sunny OKC.
I know an E-6 who is currently stationed in Hawaii and is trying to go back to sunny OKC, he is exiting Uncle Sams Canoe Club though. I'm not sure which Q he came from but I know it was OKC.
