Like they said earlier...it's not about height, it's torso length. 39" sitting height for the T-45. Some 6'4" guys have a shorter torso than some 6'1" guys.

Typically nothing is comfortable about sitting in a jet.
I understand. Thanks for the reminder. I know that the officer recruiter also made mention of something along the lines that someone too tall could break their knees in an ejection type of craft, which is not an issue for helos.

That's also why people get measured for buttock-knee length as well.

It's probably 50/50 whether or not you get injured in an ejection anyway, no matter how big you are. Some guys come out without a scratch...some do not.

I'm 6' 2" and fit as comfortably as can be expected and I know several VFA pilots who are noticeably taller than me. In the 6'4" - 6'5" range. Just hope the anthros work in your favor is all.

My 2 cents on this. I was ultimately NPQ'd from SNA due to astigmatism as well as my sitting height. My sitting height is 39.78", measured it twice and then averaged. The T45's max sitting height is 38", which meant I was busted for both Jets and E2/C2. I was also busted for the sitting height on the heli pipeline. Which meant i am only eligible for the maritime patrol pipeline. Only thing is, navy requires you to be eligible for 2 different pipelines. I'm only eligible for 1. I think it would be hard to slouch enough to take off 1.78 inches without the flight surgeon seeing. I had the option to go NFO, but I looked up the Air Force anthro measurements for every plane they fly, and I can fly everything but the F16. May be contacting them after my PRK surgery.

It also worth to note that if you are beyond the anthro limits, no waivers will be granted. It is stated in a document someone attached above. If you have questions, dm me

I'm also 6'2" for reference

Thanks for the info, man. Sorry to read about the disqualification. I thought 6'2" would be a cinch for any craft, including fighters. I guess it really does come down to those anthro measurements. So, what are your plans now as far as the Navy?
