When it all comes down to it Im guessing .45 ball is just as good as 9mm JHP.

Actually, not quite. .45 ball is good... for ball ammo. A good 9mm JHP load will run circles around a .45 ball load in terms of stopping bad guys. Of the three loads, 9mm, .40, and .45, in good JHP, they're all about equals.

Of course, the funny thing about this debate is... would you really want to get shot with any of them?
