Sad news today. One of aviation's greatest has passed on.

John Glenn, whose 1962 flight as the first U.S. astronaut to orbit the Earth made him an all-American hero and propelled him to a long career in the U.S. Senate, died Thursday. The last survivor of the original Mercury 7 astronauts was 95.

John Glenn was a member of my squadron 60 years before I got there. AirWarriors member VSTOLER sent him this picture, which he signed: "Dear Tomcats: Don't overfly a AAA position twice"

It hangs in the squadron bar, the Glenn Room.
"Ol' Magnet Ass," indeed.
Huh? Wikipedia says she was born in 1920 and he was born in 1921. They were married in 1943.
And he married a woman who worked through some significant personal handicaps, but by all means, let's make juvenile jokes about banging younger women. </SARCASM>
