Gee, it has been a tough week for leaders. I had not realized that he was ill. News hasn't yet disclosed exactly what was the cause of death.

I just watched the briefing that Gen Schwarzkopf gave during the Gulf war and I am blown away. I do not know a a single time in military history that a commander gave a thoroughly explanatory brief of a campaign. Numerous time he alluded to his compete deference to political authority. He clearly did a great job as a military general but (in my opinion) did a bigger service by telling the American people what he did and why he did it.

You were one of the good ones General. We will miss you.
