FY18 STA-21 Applicants

Antman411

OCS Applicant
I decided not to apply this year, I'm taking the time to make progress on my degree and make myself a lot more presentable. It looks promising this year if you're going for NFO or pilot, good luck to all of you who did apply!

I'm curious where you see it looks promising for these options?

Question for everyone/anyone. My command sent my package out the 28th of June(before the 01JULY17 postmark deadline in the 1420.1B). The NETFOCUS website shows it arriving the 5th of July but doesn't mention the postmark date. Does anyone else have a similar result?

So now the wait.....everyone remember to check netfocus periodically to ensure that more info isn't required from you after the package has been reviewed.

How did everyone's interviews go?

If it has been assigned to a reviewer: I think you're good. If you're not, they should provide comments on this page after review. (From previous threads, it looks like they will mostly be reviewed by the end of this month and anything needing correction will be required before September.)

Same here(different date). That makes sense. I'm probably just overthinking it now that it's finally out of my hands for the most part.

This is what mine looks like as well. After reading through FY17 applicants posts, they said that they saw a trend in the date it was last updated so I'm trying not to read to much in it but I'm going to post it when it gets updated more often to see if there are actually any trends in it.

Yeah, I think the trend was more geared towards if they were updated the day the board convened it probably signifies that those people would be on the selectee/alternate NAVADMIN due to a report being run on them.
Once mine shows reviewed/good-to-go, I'm going to try my hardest not to obsess about this until September. I need to focus on that first class exam and my upcoming classes.

Ha, yeah that is a good plan but we all know it will really end up. I'm trying to just focus on what is going on right now but I still check this and the sta21 website on a daily basis.

Bad news. My application was marked ineligible. The base post office sat on my package for 6 days before it was post marked. They wouldn't let my senior chief next day air personal mail it, so he had to hand it over to the Navy side of the office. He was given a tracking number that had its first scan originated on 06 JUL. There is no paper trail before that. I am pretty devastated. I don't know what to do.

That is a really shitty situation. BUT don't give up just yet. Get on the phone(might be better if it's your divo or something) ASAP with Mr. Hodge in Pensacola(one of the STA-21 people). Have them explain the situation and see if there is a way to submit your package later. The website talks about late packages being accepted if given a compelling reason by the CO.

Also, keep knocking out your college classes. If you really are at 112 credit hours you almost have your Bachelors degree! That close I believe you can even apply for OCS as you'd finish your degree before getting commissioned(but don't quote me).

Good Luck!

you GPA is way low, I doubt you would be selected with a GPA that low, you should get your GPA up significantly before applying again, STA-21 is a highly competitive program.

your GPA is low enough that it is actually below the minimum GPA to stay in the program so why would they select a person who upon arrival wouldn't be above the minimum.
