FY09 STA-21 Soup to selection and beyond MEGA thread

FY 09 CORE Selectee!
I was selected for CORE and want to go SWO when it comes time to choose but I will be 28 already. Ed told me that you submit a waiver for being over age for the option you want, and he said that they are only rarely denied because you are held to the CORE requirements for commissioning.

OK. I may submit a package this year then. Im 25 right now but have my associates. Cant chose SNA or SNFO because of my vision but I wouldnt mind paying out of pocket for PRK if I got picked up for CORE. I have to take the ACT again though because I didnt get a 21 on math.

Just a heads up bro, the Navy College offers a ten (10) day ACT/SAT refesher course. You can get TAD orders from your command. My SAT/ACT both improved drastically. Good luck

Just a heads up. My husband was picked up for CORE FY09 and as NCSU right now. They have been encouraging him to stay here for his 3 years although that would take him past his 29th B-day. Apparently, as long as you meet the requirement when you get picked up, it's up to the command at the school to give you the waiver for age or not. Here at this school they don't seem to really care about the age requirements for any of the designators. Hope this helps!
