Un-fucking believable

How could any pilot feel good working for UAL ? These folks are evil. The management down to the FA’s
I work 4 days out of the next 17 days, all of my trips so far in August have been premium/time and a half pay, airplanes are full, company is making a profit, oil prices are reasonable, and the flying folks have lots of seating options …. sheeeeit, I feel so good working for UAL, I have Rhapsody in Blue playing in my house right now. It's a great time to be an airline pilot. Cheers!

Pretty sure this is the definition of capitalism, I see nothing wrong with providing more/better service for more money...

Have you never been to a strip club?

Me? I’m proud to work there. Who do you fly for?
Peace there - but so paid full fare coach for personal travel on United and once again, differing from DL, AA, etc, it was one unhappy experience. I can tell you as a pax, UAL simply takes undo advantage of the market without providing at least a modicum of customer service. This article is from a pretty reputable piece of journalism.

I mean this with all sincerity... if you don’t like the product don’t keep buying the ticket.

The vast majority of folks (over 80%) travel once a year at most and let cheapest flight decide whose loyalties they have. That majority of folks is the smallest source of revenue for an airline The frequent repeat customers/business class passengers are what the brands cater to. They should get first crack at the “better” economy seats (if there is such a thing)... they’re the greatest percentage of the revenue stream.

As long as folks let bottom dollar pricing demands dictate their purchases you’re going to see a premium applied to anything that isn’t bottom tier service.

Seems like most folks should go with the lowest price if airlines don't care about them because they don't fly enough to matter. It's a vicious cycle.

I don’t blame folks for looking for the best deal especially when the products don’t stand out... I get a decent discount on tickets through my company for myself and select people close to me but last time a made paid travel arrangements for one of them I was sitting there on the computer comparing direct flights to see who gave them the best deal for their $ because that’s what is prioritized... it was within $15 but I went with the cheapest carrier for them.

The relationship between an airline and non requent passengers is one of pure business. Folks want to get from point A to B as cheaply as possible and Airlines provide them exactly what the market demands. If folks want a better product, one is available if they’re willing to pay relatively small up charges for it. If they don’t, the airline is till going to get them to their destination as safely as possible just as with every other person on the plane regardless of ticket price.
