VT-35 SNA
I was wondering what any fleet guys know of, or think about the "proposed" policy to reduce the number of SNAs and newly winged guys by sending 48 SNAs directly to reserve squadrons. Nothing has been set in stone yet, but apparetnly certain "selectees" - (buzzword: could mean volunteers or voluntolds), upon competion of Advanced will go directly to some kind of Safety School (?) to learn C-9 or C-40 and then do the whole 2 years active, 6 years reserve at a VR squadron. Word is each VR squadron will take 2 JOs.

I thought this sounded like a decent deal. I don't want to fly for the airlines. I'm an engineer who loves to fly, with a Masters in Aeronautical engineering. I'd like to use my degree in an aviation related environment somewhere. Would this be a good route to take? Fly a little, design a little?

We just had a brief about it (TW-4 in Corpus) and it sounds like it's gonna happen. Nothing in stone yet, but everyone loves to speculate.
