Now that the fleet is mostly dominated by fa-18, whatever became of naval fight officers on f-14, and a-6 pilots? Are they in administrative assignments until they retired?

I would recommend do a TON of research not only here but also with google. The answer you're looking for can be easily searched.

Questions like what you just did can get you scolded around here...

When a platform goes away, many officers (both pilot and NFO) transition to a different airframe. Sometimes squadrons as a whole transition to a different aircraft, as was the case with many squadrons of aircraft you mentioned. With everything in the military, timing is everything. For some with bad timing a transition may not have made sense and they got out or went on numerous different paths away from the cockpit. It was fairly common in the late 90's to run in to Hornet pilots that started their career in A-6's or A-7's. When the F-14 went away the VF community was assimilated in to the VFA community.
